The Mandalorian: Jon Favreau kept Baby Yoda from Being Even More Cute

During the early production for The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau made it a mission to keep Baby Yoda from being too cute. However, that clearly didn’t stop the viewers from being having a cute surprise in the first episode. In the first episode, our Mando was locating a package. However, it actually was a little baby. During the production and post-production, the creators were very careful to leave hints for the fans about Baby Yoda.

How did they change Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian?

Jon Favreau wanted to make Baby Yoda less cute as compared to the initial concepts. In an interview with Vanity Fair, he said that the initial concept for Baby Yoda were actually very cute. They began to do some tweaking and make him look rough. By editing the small little details, we finally have our Baby Yoda. This whole thing is actually the reason as to why the baby has hairs on him.

The original baby would make the normal cute little sounds. However, they later changed it to these scary but still kinda cute sounds.

However, the fans clearly fell in love with the current version of Baby Yoda. He is still very cute and so are his neat little antics. Especially, the way he walks. Also, he can do some crazy stuff. That still manages to keep our mouths open.

You will be able to watch The Mandalorian season 2 soon. However, we do not know whether the production is going on or not. Because of the ongoing pandemic, it is certainly possible that the production may not be happening right now.

There is much to know about our two lead characters. Many more adventures are ahead and hopefully, Baby Yoda won’t get high off of something from the ship.

I wish that Jon or someone in the production team reveals what the initial concept were. We would love to see them.
