Companies like Facebook and Google announced that they will be allowing its employees to work remotely until the end of 2020. Twitter took it one step further. Employees working at Twitter will now be able to work remotely from their homes permanently. Square is doing the same thing with its employees, according to The Verge.
How would it work?
Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square stated that their employees are now going to work remotely. It will be permanent and will continue even after their offices open. This policy is for those employees are can work from their homes. However, those are needed at the offices for their jobs will need to be there. For example, Security, and other staff members.
Even Microsoft has made an announcement to let its employees work remotely until October 2020. These companies will be opening their offices in the coming months. However, most of the employees who are allowed to work-from-home, are notified.
Those who are required to be present at the offices will be there. However, the companies will put down some ground rules and different policies to make the workplace safe.
In the coming months, we can expect to see some other big companies doing the same thing. They will either provide some more relief to their employees or they will just let them work remotely permanently.
