I love how transparent all of this is turning out to be. A documentary on Valve is out now and there’s so much for you to know. We just found out that the company made the decisions to cancel multiple games over the decade. Some cancelled Valve games were some of the most anticipated ones. Here’s what you should know.
Some Cancelled Valve Games and The Reasons
In a documentary which is out on Steam, we find out the reasons behind Half-Life 3 not releasing. Over the past couple of years, Gabe Newell did not want to talk about the game. However, it is just one of the five games which never came out over the past 10 years.
Half-Life 3 was going to be a procedurally-generated game with the elements of Left 4 Dead. However, it was cancelled due to the unfinished Source engine.
Also, maybe with the success of Half-Life: Alyx, there could be a chance for Half-Life: 3.
This is the exact reason as to why Left 4 Dead 3 never came out for the players. The audience is very big but it never really happened. Nonetheless, it will be okay because Back 4 Blood is coming.
Besides this, there was A.R.T.I, a mix of The Elder Scrolls and Minecaft. A game was being developed by the developers behind Kerbal Space Program. A Half-Life VR game was being worked on too.
Valve is doing really good right now without these games. They continuously work on Steam and other games. We know this because Half-Life: Alyx is one hell of a game.
Hopefully, we will see a new game which will make fans very happy.
