Mafia and Mafia II have always been fan-favorites. Mafia III was good too but it had a rocky start and lacked some of the charm. We got an enhanced Mafia II which made a lot of fans happy. Now, we are getting Mafia: Definitive Edition. You’ll find the 14-minute gameplay for the upcoming “remake”. I saw it and I’m still shocked (it’s been one day). Here’s what you should know.
The ‘New’ in Mafia: Definitive Edition
Firstly, I never thought that we would get a definitive edition for this game. Secondly, it isn’t just a graphically enhanced version of the game. The Definitive Edition is offering a lot and it only costs $40.
The graphics look 100x beautiful if compared to the original game. However, Hangar 13 and 2K Games aren’t just leaving it here. They have added more vehicles including motorcycles and cars. You’ll also find some new building and sceneries making the world more interesting and full.
They are using the motion capture technology for the characters. It is common now but back then, there was no such thing. When you play the game, you’ll see that the combat system is much more different. According to the devs, they took the foundation of gunplay mechanics from Mafia III and enhanced it to make it fit well in Mafia: Definitive Edition. This means that you’ll get the feeling of being in the 20th Century.
