Disney made some really creative non-medical masks. They are available in US and they best thing about them is that they are feature characters from movies. For instance, some masks are from the movies made by Pixar, Marvel, etc. They also made some for the Star Wars fans.
$1 Million dollar for charity
Recently, Disney said that they will be donating one million masks. These masks will be for some struggling communities. It will be done through MedShare, they are an organization who focus on helping others. Besides this, $1 million in profits which will be made in the United States from the masks through 30th Sept, will also be given to MedShare.
About the masks
Here are some details on these special masks. These masks will be available in the form of a bunch of fan-favorite characters. For instance, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, Anna and Elsa, from Toy Story and Frozen, respectively. Not just them, you can also buy masks inspired by The Avengers and R2D2. You can even buy a cute Baby Yoda mask.
These masks were made because CDC suggested that when someone is outside, in public, they should cover their face with something. This is to curtail the spread of the virus. Disney has clearly stated that the medical professionals who are treating people with coronavirus should not wear these masks. That is not its intended purpose. These masks allow you to cover your face and look cool doing it.
Disney knows that this is a difficult time for everyone. For the people who are working, and for those whose family member(s) is on the frontlines fighting the battle. It is also for the people who are stuck in their homes. Besides this, it is pretty uncomfortable to wear tight masks and go outside. That is one of the reasons they are making these character-themed masks. If you think about it, it is pretty cool.
These masks are available for pre-order on Disney’s online store. They come in different sizes. You can order a set of 4 for $19.99. According to the company, you will be able to buy them instead of pre-ordering around July 15th, 2020.
