During the livestream where Microsoft revealed a lot of games from third-party devs, Destiny 2 was one them. Bungie’s game is coming for PS5 and Xbox Series X. The release date for the next-gen versions for the game has not been confirmed yet. However, Bungie also gave an announcement for the same, on their twitter.
The good thing is that PS5 and Xbox Series X support backward compatibility. Even Sony has said that you will be able to play over 4000 PS4 games on your PS5. That’s pretty awesome considering Xbox has been doing that before Sony.
Nonetheless, we always had an idea that Sony will make it a new feature for PlayStation. There is also a high chance that if you own the game for PS4 and Xbox One, you will be able to play it on the next-gen consoles.
There ain’t no story changes but it will be great to see the game thriving.
There are still some questions regarding how it will work. For example, Bungie made Destiny 2 free-to-play some time ago. Besides this, they also introduced some new features. One of them was cross-save.
Now, you are able to transfer your accounts to different devices. However, the question that we want to know the answer to is whether we will able to transfer accounts to PS5 or Xbox Series X. It is certainly possible but if it does not happen then we will have to start everything again. Bungie will give updates over time.
It will be a good thing if they allow people to transfer their accounts to PS5 and Xbox. It all depends on Bungie’s execution. So far, they are trying to do good by the community. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
We will keep you updated on our Twitter page.
